Giving Back: Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara

There’s nothing quite like seeing the next generation light up when they discover where their food comes from. Recently, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara stopped by Tri-County Produce for a special behind-the-scenes visit — and it was a day to remember!

Owner Jaime and Mito Desales welcomed the kids with a fun, hands-on tour through the market. They learned how fresh produce arrives daily, what goes into keeping everything organized and beautiful, and even got to try their hand at running the register — a big hit!

Of course, no visit to Tri-County would be complete without a taste of something fresh and sweet. The group gathered around to sample juicy, just-cut watermelon, learning about how it’s sourced and selected for peak ripeness.

It was an afternoon full of smiles, learning, and community spirit — a reminder that Tri-County Produce is more than just a grocery store. It’s a place where generations come together to celebrate good food, hard work, and local roots.

Thank you to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara for spending the day with us — we can’t wait to welcome you back soon!
